Army Navy

Letter "A" - ARMY NAVY Burger + Burrito

Army Navy, located at SM North EDSA, is an American-themed resto which specializes on burgers and burritos (obviously).

Now I'm no food critic. I don't really have food standards. Being the meat lover that I am, anything with meat is good enough. But because I'm in the mood to be critic-y, I will be critic-y.

Army Navy's burger

Quarter pound beef patty, lettuce, tomatoes, onions

Price: 145

Had to google for "what makes a good burger" to, well, critique my burger.

What makes a good burger?
1. The bun
Was enough for the ingredients. Large enough to hold 'em, small enough not to rob the burger of its flavor. Had BLACK sesame seeds in them, too. I never thought black sesame seeds existed. Even thought they're burnt sesame seeds or something. So, I googled (again). As it turns out, "Black sesame seeds are not hulled, brown (golden) sesame seeds retain their hulls too, and the white seeds are hulled which exposes their true seed color." And, "Black sesame seeds are more flavorful and have a stronger aroma than white or brown sesame seeds. Toasting black sesame seeds releases beneficial chemicals as well as enhancing the flavor."

Good thing Army Navy ain't racist. (okay, that wasn't funny)

2. The patty
The ice in ice cream, the peanut in peanut butter, the chicken in fried chicken, okay. Back to the patty. Army Navy's burger patty was okay. Not too dry. Not too sloppy. Juuuuuust right. It had the right amount of juice and char.
3. The sauce
Just the right amount of catsup and mayo.

4. All the other ingredients
Lettuce, tomatoes and onions. The normal stuff (which should normally be fresh). Army Navy's were crisp and quite fresh.

5. Add-ons
Army Navy has add-on options. Didn’t get add-ons for my burger though. Next time :)

6. The burger juice
Yep. There was definitely juice.

Overall rating for Army Navy burger: 4/5.

Next...

Army Navy's Freedom Fries

Potato fries with a very catchy name. Very appropriate with the whole army navy theme.

Price: 65

If you're craving for McDo's twister fries (note: McDo doesn't serve this all year round), Army Navy is the place to go. Army Navy's fries are pretty much like McDonald's twister fries. Only, they're not "twisted".

Overall rating for Army Navy fries: 4/5

Finally...

Army Navy's Fearless Chicken

Fried chicken served with rice and gravy

Price: 145

This was Ted's meal. Nonetheless, you don't need to eat an entire cake for you to know if it tastes good. Same goes with chicken. And yes, Army Navy's chicken tastes good. But what really caught Ted's taste buds' attention, was the chicken's gravy sauce. For me, the sauce was mmmm-kay. For him, it was beyond okay.

Got nothing else to say. Just one last word to describe Army Navy's chicken - FEARLESS!

That wraps up our (A)rmy Navy experience. Until next time.
